Hello everyone!

Since we had less than ten participants before the deadline the contest has been extended for a (little over a) month. Hopefully everyone who answered in our last poll that they needed more time will be able to participate with the extra time.

To those who have already submitted: remember that you are welcome to make two entires in total. And it is also okay to revisit your submissions, before the new deadline, if you realize there's something you want to change.

To everyone: remember to read all the requirements carefully, and make sure that you are illustrating a scene from a myth and not just drawing a person/being from a myth!

Hello lovely deviants. A theme has been chosen, prizes are accumulating, and our 2016 contest can begin!

Theme

Thank you to everyone who voted. As usual we will save the rest of the themes as possibilities for our future contests. The theme that was chosen is the following:

• Mythic Scene: Illustrate a scene from a myth of your choice in Art Nouveau style.

Deadline

• 30th of October 4th of December 2016. See frontpage of group for countdown.

Rules

• Your entry must be your own original work and it must be in Art Nouveau style.
• Your entry must be made, uploaded to deviantART and submitted to artnouveau's Mythic Scene folder after the 10th of July 2016 and before 3 pm on the 30th of October 4th of December (GTM+1). See frontpage of group for countdown.
• It must be clear from both your description and your deviation which scene from which myth you have chosen to illustrate.
• In the context of this contest a myth is defined as: "a story that was told in an ancient culture to explain a practice, belief, or natural occurrence." The myth can be from any ancient culture. If you are in doubt about whether the scene you want to illustrate is a myth, please ask!
• The deviation description must state that the deviation is made for artnouveau's Mythic Scene contest with a click-able link to this journal.
• All stock and resources must be properly credited and from valid sources. If you've used your own stock or resources it must be stated clearly in your description.
• Premade backgrounds and frames are not allowed.
• You may submit two entries, but you can only win one prize. So remember, quality before quantity.
• As usual the deadline will be extended one month, if there is less than ten participants by the end of the deadline.
